Of those surrounding the Nightfall...

PALAWA JOKO
The undead lord of the Desolation, Palawa once controlled the valleys leading north out of Elona from his strategically positioned Bone Palace.

CENTAURS
Elonian Centaurs not only have equine features, but also resemble the swift gazelles that run across plains and savannahs. These creatures are also more leonine than their distant Tyrian cousins.

HARPIES
Once beautiful winged creatures who proudly served Dwayna, they now stalk the earth.

HEKET
These menacing creatures thrive in water, but prefer to survive in arid areas.

JUNUNDU
Colossal wurms roam the sulfurous wastelands of the Desolation, led by a queen mother: a subterranean monstrosity called Aijundu.

DEMONS
Just as ghosts can defy death by returning to the land of the living, demons find ways into our world, where they feast on suffering, despair, and the vital energy of intelligent creatures.

DIJIN
Djinn are spirits with deep ties to the Elonian continent, usually bound to spiritually strong areas.

CORSAIRS
Corsairs live outside the law, and rule the seas.

Of those told in the Factions...

SHIRO TAGATCHI
Murderer of the Emperor of Cantha, in his dying moments he unleashed a force known only at the Jade Wind. The Jade Wind was a burst of energy that turned many things into stone and crystal. In recent times, he is believed to have returned as a spectral force that corrupts everything in its wake - the "affliction".

THE AFFLICTED
Remnants of living creatures devistated by Shiro's spirit (see above). A non-contageous plague, the result is a hideous and grotesque creature whose only end is death - theirs or yours, doesn't matter to them.

THE CRIMSON SKULL
Pirates of Cantha, these outlaws await adventurers in low-population areas. Death is not only a profitable business, and also serves as a sort of religious touchstone.

THE WARDERS
Vengeful warriors, these former protectors of Echovald are driven by a rage of madness to avenge the damage done to the lands by the Jade Wind.

THE NAGA
Serpent-like creatures also hell-bent on revenge, these creatures also lost their home and nearly became exinct when the Jade Wind struck. They are most dangerous to sea travelers.

THE DREDGER
Mole people enslaved by the Stone Summit dwarves, a few of them escaped and made their way to the Echovald Forest of Cantha.

GANGS OF KAINENG
Organized crime is rampant in Cantha. The Celestial Ministry, try as they might, can't hold on to everything properly. Two notable gangs to watch out for are the Am Fah, and Jade Brotherhood.

Of those told in the Prophecy...

THE CHARR
Fire is sacred to this group of savage beasts. The fulfillment of their obligation leads them to construct flame temples through the land. Each temple holds a sacred flame - as long as it burns, the gods are pleased. When they travel in large warbands, they take a brazier lit by these flames. Humans over time have learned to read the signs - if the flame is up, someone's home. If not, they've moved on. The Charr are a devisating force.

THE STONE SUMMIT
The xenophobic denziens of Shiverpeak Mountain aspire for power, but don't seem to eager to leave except under orders. When found outside and away from the mountain, they are ruthless in their task, for any failure means certain death.

THE UNDEAD
Once living humans, no one is sure what they are after or just why these souls refuse to die. Theories abound, of course.
